Taking Stock  by AG

  Anna's family may not have come from the most
prestigious of suburbs, but she was privileged.  She
had to be, given her long blonde hair, deep blue eyes
and a body that supermodels would die for.
 
     A few months ago, Anna turned 18 and started smoking.   Her parents didn't appreciate it, but she didn't care.   This wouldn't have been a problem, but then Anna tried to get a little extra spending money by buying cigarettes for the neighborhood kids, and got caught in a bust.  The videotape of her handing the
cigarettes to the kids was all that was needed to
secure the conviction; Anna readily agreed to
"alternative sentencing" to avoid jail time.
 
So now, on this fine spring day, Anna sits in the
neighborhood park in wooden stocks, the old-fashioned
kind with the wrist holes directly above the ankle
holes.  Her hands and feet are kept close to each
other, but she has no way of touching any two of them
together.  On top of her white t-shirt-clad breasts is
a wooden sign tied around her neck, reading "I BOUGHT CIGARETTES FOR KIDS".

     The uncomfortable position, the embarrassment, and the scoldings from passersby are bad enough.  But what
makes her punishment even worse is that they've fitted
a tube gag in her mouth and clamped her nose shut with
a clothespin.  Then they fit a huge cigar to the
outside of the tube gag, and lit it.  With each breath
Anna takes, she draws lungfuls of smoke, and just
enough oxygen so she doesn't pass out.  The smoke
escaping from around the gag doesn't cloud her pretty
features, but she feels like she's drowning in smoke.
 
 They've just lit the third cigar, and already Anna's
forced to puff up a storm to the delight of the
bemused onlookers.  No one ever said how long Anna's
time in the stocks would last, but the constable was
given a new box of 20 cigars that morning.  He doesn't
smoke, nor does he know anyone else who does, so he
figures he might as well let Anna have them all ...
